Welcome GreenBiz Community

Dear Shreya and the Schneider Electric team,

Welcome! We are thrilled to connect with you and Schneider Electric for our nationwide giving day in support of climate and environmental nonprofits. Our key goal is to build a broad community of earth givers who redirect some of their generosity to the critical solutions being advanced by nonprofits and personally embrace ways to live more harmoniously with the planet. And while this initiative is focused on US-based nonprofits for now, people across the globe can participate.

Earth Gives Day is a 30+ day initiative kicking off on September 5 and culminating on October 7. The platform allows for a “shopping cart” type of experience for giving to a diverse community of 501(c)(3) organizations, commitment of volunteer hours, learning and connecting with groups through event postings, and peer-to-peer fundraising for individuals to rally their own communities to do the same. We also host public education and activation programs called Power Hours, which have been presented by notable figures like Bill McKibben and organizations with expertise in regenerative agriculture and circularity.

In researching Schneider Electric's important work in sustainability, we are offering up a few ideas for your involvement in Earth Gives Day that add to your efforts in supporting environmental stewardship:

  • Sponsor Earth Gives Day as our Renewable Power Player at the $50,000 level. Benefit details can be forwarded.

  • Establish a $10,000 Prize Fund branded as the Schneider Electric Fund: Target nonprofit mission categories supporting decarbonization, renewable energy, water, and other aligned topic areas. Prize Funds encourage nonprofits to promote your fund and potentially win the dollars through rallying the most donors or dollars based on organization size. 100% of these funds are passed on to the successful nonprofits.

  • Other strategic options:

    • Invite partners and collaborators to join you in this initiative, including those you may have celebrated with your Impact Awards.

    • Leverage the initiative’s campaign messaging to engage your clients and employees in meaningful ways. With 77% of your workforce being driven by sustainability, this may be an easy and fun way to engage individuals and teams in championing the climate nonprofit sector that is accretive to the company’s work. (A full toolkit including graphic ads is provided to highlight your involvement.)

    • Set up a free Schneider Electric Company Giving page. Invite your team and clients to invest in nonprofits you support by guiding them to your page. (Consider matching donations made through your company page.) Individuals/team members can set up Peer-to-Peer pages off your page or off nonprofits they want to showcase. (Back-end data is captured for contests and for your own follow-up activities.)

    • Set up one or several Eco Hours - one-hour contests that include small financial giveaways to the nonprofit rallying the most people/dollars during that hour. The Eco Hour promotion features your logo and links to your website or a specific service offering page.

If any of this sounds interesting, please contact me at Rhonda@earthgives.org or fill out the form with your interests.

We would be honored to work with you to support the nonprofit teams working on our behalf - protecting our water and air, teaching STEM, workforce development, healing wildlife, advancing circularity, and so much more.

Together, more is possible,

Rhonda & the Earth Gives Community
