Welcome GreenBiz Community

Dear Melanie, Nidhi and the Team at LinkedIn,

Welcome! We are thrilled to connect with you and LinkedIn for our nationwide giving day in support of climate and environmental nonprofits. Our key goal is to build a broad community of earth givers who redirect some of their generosity to the critical solutions being advanced by nonprofits and personally embrace ways to live more harmoniously with the planet.

Earth Gives Day is a 30+ day initiative kicking off on September 5 and culminating on October 7. The platform allows for a “shopping cart” type of experience for giving to a diverse community of 501(c)(3) organizations, commitment of volunteer hours, learning and connecting with groups through event postings, and peer-to-peer fundraising for individuals to rally their own communities to do the same. We also host public education and activation programs called Power Hours, which have been presented by notable figures like Bill McKibben and organizations with expertise in climate justice and circularity.

In researching LinkedIn's impressive work in sustainability, we are sharing a few ideas for your participation in Earth Gives Day that might align with your key goals and leadership in promoting environmental stewardship:

  • Sponsor Earth Gives Day as our Green Giant sponsor at the $25,000 sponsorship level. (Benefit details can be forwarded.)

  • Establish a $10,000 Prize Fund branded as the LinkedIn Fund, targeting nonprofit mission categories such as Renewable Energy, STEM Education, Climate Workforce Development, and other mission areas. Prize Funds encourage nonprofits to promote your fund and potentially win the dollars through rallying the most donors or dollars based on organization size. 100% of these funds are passed on to the successful nonprofits.

  • Harness Top Green Voices: Utilize LinkedIn's influential voices in the sustainability space to amplify the message of Earth Gives Day on your platform.

  • Engage Employees Globally: Leverage LinkedIn's thousands of employees involved in climate initiatives, including the GOGreen sustainability action group. They can participate, promote, share insights from nonprofits on a variety of topics.

  • Collaborate with Partners: Bring in Microsoft and other partners to engage and scale this initiative, enhancing the impact and reach for all kinds of climate-focused nonprofits.

  • LinkedIn Live Programs: Tap into LinkedIn Live for a variety of programs featuring climate leaders and experts, fostering education and engagement.

If any of this sounds interesting, please contact me at Rhonda@earthgives.org or fill out the form with your interests.

As a huge fan of LinkedIn, it would be a true honor to work with you to support nonprofit teams across the United States working on our behalf locally and globally - protecting our water and air, planting trees, teaching STEM, healing wildlife, scaling renewable energy, and so much more.

Together, more is possible,

Rhonda & the Earth Gives Community
