Welcome GreenBiz Community

Dear Aileen and the Team at Allbirds,

Welcome! We are thrilled to have you connect with Earth Gives for our nationwide giving day in support of climate and environmental nonprofits. Our key goal is to build a broad community of earth givers who redirect some of their generosity to the critical solutions being advanced by nonprofits and personally embrace ways to live more harmoniously with the planet.

Earth Gives Day is a 30+ day initiative kicking off September 5 and culminating on October 7. The platform allows for a “shopping cart” type of experience for giving to a diverse community of 501(c)(3) organizations, commitment of volunteer hours, learning and connecting with groups through event postings, and peer-to-peer fundraising for individuals to rally their own communities to do the same. We also host public education and activation programs called Power Hours, which have been presented by notable figures like Bill McKibben and organizations with expertise in regenerative agriculture and circularity.

In researching Allbirds impressive work in sustainability, we believe the following ideas might help advance your key goals and leadership in achieving near zero by 2030 and influencing even more customers toward their eco impact:

  • Sponsor Earth Gives Day as our “Official Sustainable Shoe Partner,” an exclusive offering at a minimum $10,000 sponsorship level.

  • Establish a $10,000 Prize Fund branded as the Allbirds Fund, targeting nonprofit mission categories such as Regenerative Agriculture, Plastic Pollution, or Renewable Energy. Prize Funds encourage nonprofits to promote your fund and potentially win the funds through rallying the most donors or dollars based on organization size. 100% of these funds are passed on to the successful nonprofits.

  • Other strategic options:

    • Invite partners and collaborators like Uber Eats, Adidas and Trove to join this initiative.

    • Leverage the initiative’s campaign messaging to engage your customers in fun ways, including sharing your insights such as “climate-friendly caretaking” ideas for shoes. (A full toolkit including graphic ads are provided to highlight your “official” partnership.)

    • Set up a free Allbirds Company Giving page, inviting your team and customers to invest in nonprofits you support. Individuals can also set up Peer-to-Peer pages off your page or off nonprofits they want to showcase. (Back-end data is captured for contests and your own follow up activities.)

    • Set up one or several Eco Hours, one-hour contests that include small giveaways all throughout the initiative, featuring your logo and links to your website or a specific product page. (Perhaps giving away a MO.ONSHOT zero shoe to the top donor might be included?!)

If any of this sounds interesting, please contact me at Rhonda@earthgives.org or fill out the form with your interests.

We would be honored to work with you to support teams working on our behalf - protecting our water and air, planting trees, teaching STEM, healing wildlife, scaling renewable energy and so much more.

Together, more is possible,

Rhonda & the Earth Gives Community
